A suspense film adapted from Edogawa Rampo’s short story “The Man Who Lost His Love to His Wife,” reimagined with a fresh perspective—introducing Fumiyo Akechi, the wife of famed detective Kogorō Akechi, as the main investigator (a character not present in the original story). Shūichi, a man living comfortably off an inheritance, suffers deeply from the emotional coldness of his wife Miyako. In his distress, he confides in Koto'ura, their family dentist. Suspecting Miyako of infidelity, Koto'ura secretly contacts the Akechi Detective Agency. It is Fumiyo Akechi, the detective’s wife, who takes on the case. As Fumiyo digs deeper, she uncovers unsettling truths, leading the story toward a shocking and unexpected conclusion. Mao Miyaji plays the alluring and mysterious wife, while Mari Hoshino stars as the intelligent and poised detective, Fumiyo Akechi.
